OBJECTIVES

• Since its inception in 1997, the Family Eid Festival works towards building Islamic awareness within the Ottawa community.

• Its goal is to organize a Festival that allows families to celebrate Eid in a fun environment while keeping with the best Islamic principles and traditions.

• Moreover, we strive to promote and train local youth volunteers in order to foster a stronger sense of community, encourage youth participation within the community and build the leadership and organizational skills of our youth that will serve the community in the future.

• In order to help other communities establish a similar event, the Family Eid Festival has created a committee solely dedicated to documenting the processes and procedures required to successfully host such an event.
